Lillian ("Lilly") Henry was born and raised here in Lafayette.  She moved to New Jersey to obtain her undergraduate degree in Biology from Princeton University.  From there she went on to Northern California to receive her JD from Stanford Law School.  After law school, Lillian practiced as a commercial litigator in California for twelve years, specializing in intellectual property, entertainment and trust and estates law.  In 2012, Lillian moved back home to Lafayette to be closer to family and to raise her daughter, Vivian.  Lillian is licensed to practice law in Louisiana, but has more recently been working in real estate, acquiring and managing residential properties.  Lillian and her daughter attend Trinity Bible Church in Lafayette, where Lillian teaches 2nd grade in the Children's Ministry, and it is through Trinity that Lillian first became acquainted with Escape from Poverty.  She answered the Lord's call to be a part of the Board in 2021, has loved every minute of it so far, and looks forward to many more years with EFP.

"Shaun"

Treasurer

Shaun is a CPA working as both an Auditor with a local CPA firm and Public Servant at a local school board. She enjoys spending time with family and problem solving. She currently serves as the Treasurer on the Board of EFP.    Her why: Escape from Poverty is a no judgement zone which allows individuals to come as they are to gain the skills necessary to improve their current situation whether it be setting boundaries in relationships, obtaining job skills, learning how to budget or developing better grocery shopping skills. EFP focuses on the whole individual.

Keesha Buteau

Founder of Beacon of Light- Coaching, Consulting and Public Speaking Company based in Lafayette, Louisiana. Keesha B. Buteau graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. After being exposed to the realities of C-Suite management, Keesha obtained a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in project management from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2020.     Keesha B. Buteau has amassed over twenty years of experience as a non-profit executive, facilitator, and trainer. She has been instrumental in the implementation of new business operating models both locally and nationally. She has assisted and equipped organizations to reach fundraising and revenue goals, measure impact, on-board management teams, and develop cohesive strategic plans. Her love for life, people, and business shines through her every endeavor. She has a passion for creativity and growth and believes it is her purpose to be not only a reliable source of encouragement but a beacon for those who need support in search of their own success.     Additionally, she is a member of the National Association of Non-profit Organizations & Executives, Junior League of Lafayette, Board Member- Escape From Poverty, United Way of Acadiana’s Women United and a graduate of Leadership Lafayette Class of XXXV. She was recently honored as one of Acadiana’s Top 20 Under 40 Young Leaders in 2020.
